Trip Overview

Bike, Walk, Raft and Kayak along the Sunny Pacific Coast With nearly one-third of its land protected in parks and preserves, Costa Rica is a paradise for lovers of wildlife and fun-filled adventure. Escape with Backroads to a place where white-faced monkeys enliven the jungle canopy while blue morpho butterflies color the sky. Warm ocean waves lap sandy shores, and rivers wind through lush rain forests. Leaving the capital city behind, we fly to Manuel Antonio on the Pacific coast, where jungle hikes, mountain biking and Class III rafting await. We then journey to a remote peninsula that provides the perfect setting for more activities—or for simply lounging by the swimming pool. Our action-packed days are embellished by nights of pure relaxation at exquisitely appointed tropical retreats.
