Trip Overview

Come discover the Dordogne, a region evocative of the Middle Ages. In this stronghold of French tradition, an extraordinary adventure awaits, one that showcases ancient fortresses, villages carved out of cliffs, easy-flowing rivers and forested hills. Stroll along the lush valley floor, and cycle through fields of wheat and past family farms generations old. Canoe the Dordogne River. Visit four of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France (the Most Beautiful Villages of France). Overnight in the region's finest inns and enjoy gourmet delicacies, among them crepes, confit, foie gras and the wines of Bergerac and Bordeaux. In the Dordogne, a tradition of living well off the fertile land means luxury in abundance for us.
