Days 1 - 2: Shanghai. The cosmopolitan city of Shanghai is a feast for the eyes. Explore the world class museum, the diverse architecture of the Bund or indulge in some shopping at the many markets.
Day 3: Zhouzhuang. Charming ancient stone bridges cross narrow canals lined with Ming and Qing Dynasty buildings in the village of Zhouzhuang. Enjoy the tranquility that the evening brings with a gondola ride.
Days 4 - 5: Suzhou. Well known for its network of canals, Suzhou is a great city to cycle around and catch a glimpse of old China. See an atmospheric cultural performance of local opera and music in one of the tranquil gardens.
Days 6 - 7: Xi'an.This ancient capital is a city of great historical importance. Visit the famous army of Terracotta Warriors, explore the Muslim Quarter and check out the Islamic mosque with its unique Chinese influence.
Days 8 - 9: Pingyao. Travel back to yesteryear at the World Heritage site of Pingyao, with its gorgeous, traditional courtyard houses and Ming Dynasty city wall. This truly is a city that time forgot.
Days 10 - 11: Datong. The extraordinary Hanging Monastery outside Datong seems to defy gravity as it clings to the cliff face. We'll also visit the renowned Yungang Grottoes which house some 51,000 Buddha carvings.
Days 12 - 15: Beijing. Explore majestic Beijing from the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and Summer Palace to the sight of the Great Wall snaking across the rugged mountains. Enjoy a final night feast of crispy Beijing Duck.
