Explore some of the most remote and beautiful corners of Asia. Be greeted with smiles at every turn on this absolutely awesome adventure through the gentle lands of Laos, the excitement of bustling Hanoi and on into the more remote areas of China's stunning southwest.

Itinerary & Departure Dates

Days 1 & 2 - Bangkok. Embrace the chaos of Bangkok and catch a longtail boat along the lively canals to visit the magnificent reclining Buddha at Wat Po.

Day 3 - Chiang Mai. This moated city boasts over 300 ornate temples. Browse the colourful night bazaar and sample the delicious street food.

Day 4 - Chiang Khong. It is a scenic drive to this border town and our beautiful riverside guesthouse that gazes across the Mekong into Laos.

Days 5 & 6 - Mekong River. Board a local river boat for the two day journey down the swirling waters of the mighty Mekong River. We stop at small villages along the way and visiting the Buddhas at Pak Ou caves before reaching Luang Prabang.

Days 7 & 8 - Luang Prabang. Once the capital of the elephant kings, this World Heritage-listed town is now a place to chat with monks in the courtyards of gilded wats and discover the intricacies of Lao textiles.

Days 9, 10 & 11 - Vientiane. The quiet streets of Vientiane reveal enchanting wats, peaceful cafes and the vast morning market.

Day 12 - Lak Sao. Heading overland to Vietnam, break the journey for a night in the border town of Lak Sao.

Days 13, 14 & 15 - Hanoi. The fast-paced capital of Vietnam is an exciting city. Wander the busy streets of the Old Quarter and relax with a delicious Vietnamese coffee at a lakeside cafe.

Days 16, 17 & 18 - Halong Bay. Our chartered boat takes us sailing on picturesque Halong Bay. Feast on fresh seafood, explore caves and discover quiet bays inhabited by fishermen and pearl farmers.

Days 19, 20 & 21 - Huashan. Crossing through the ""Friendship Gate"" into China we head to the tiny, remote village of Huashan on the Zuo River.

Days 22 & -23 - Chengyang. An elegant 'wind and rain' bridge leads to the Dong minority village of Chengyang. Explore this enchanting place and relax on the balcony of our riverside guesthouse watching graceful waterwheels feed emerald fields.

Days 24 & 25 - Longji. The rice terraces of Longji, known as the 'Dragon's Backbone', are an engineering marvel.

Days 26 & 27 - Yangshuo. On the banks of the Li River, Yangshuo is surrounded by spectacular limestone karst mountains. Venture out on a local boat, cycle through gorgeous countryside, feast on fabulous food and shop till you drop.

Days 28 & 29 - Hong Kong. Hong Kong is a dynamic mix of old and new. There are markets and fishing villages, streets filled with antiques, the latest in camera technology or designer labels. Stunning views and restaurants as well.
