Day 1 From Nairobi , Kenya 's modern capital, we head west to Lake Nakuru is, by contrast, a shallow soda lake and a National Park with an area of 200 square kilometres. After our afternoon game drive we camp inside the national Park.

Day 2 Leaving Lake Nakuru after our morning game drive, we climb into the beautiful Highlands of Kenya where we camp overnight in Eldoret. It gets cold up here at night so bring something warm.

Day 3 - 5 Today we cross into Uganda , a country that has suffered more than its fare share of tragedies in the past. We have the opportunity to spend a day, enjoying the spectacular rapids and scenery, white water rafting this mighty river, graded 4 to 5 , there’s also a chance to participate in some quad biking, and make a difference by visiting the Soft Power Children’s Education project

Day 6 Driving through the beautiful countryside of Uganda , we arrive at one of our base camp – Lake Bunyonyi (depending on which area we have permits for will determine our base camp). Lake Bunyonyi is often called the little Switzerland of Africa. Take a wooden dugout canoe on the lake, try your hand at fishing or make a visit to the bustling market town of Kabale.

Day 7 - 9 Our Gorilla trek is next and with the help of local guides, armed with pangas to clear our way through the dense equatorial rain forest, we take our first glimpse of these beautiful docile creatures This year we have been visiting the gorillas in Rwanda but your permits may be in either Rwanda or Uganda depending on availability.

Day 10 An early start from Lake Bunyonyi we cross the Uganda countryside heading for Kampala the capital city of Uganda. This afternoon you have some free time in the big city to check your emails and have a look round the markets.

Day 11
After some last minute shopping in Kampala this morning we cross the border back to Kenya and head back towards Eldoret. Tonight is spent by the fire in the Naiberi Falls campsite.

Day 12 - 13 Stopping at Kembu farm on the outskirts of Nakuru, we take some time out to go horse riding or walking, before visiting another of Kenya ’s lakes – Lake Navashia , locally known by the Maasai as E-na-iposha (heaving waters). We also have the option of Biking in Hells gate National Park or a boat trip to Cresent Island.

Day 14 Driving out of the rift valley we arrive back into Nairobi , this is where or tour comes to an end. We spend our final evening out at the famous Carnivores restaurant will satisfy any meat eaters desire, but don’t worry there is also an excellent vegetarian menu.

Day 15 Crossing the border into Tanzania , we will see the Maasai people; a tribe previously thought of as “noble savages” both feared and admired by the early colonials. Here we stay in Arusha, the gateway to the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 16 - 18 We move on to what the Maasai call “siringet”, meaning endless plains or more commonly known to us as the Serengeti National Park. This park is home to over 2 million migratory animals. We drive across the vast plains in search of lion, cheetah, giraffe, elephant, etc.

Day 19 We take a day off after our busy game viewing experience and stay near the dusty town of Arusha where you can try out your trading skills in the colourful ebony markets.

Day 20 - 21 A day’s drive south, passing beneath the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro , is Dar es Salaam and the beckoning shores of the Indian Ocean. The East Coast of this vast continent is our set off point for a few days on Zanzibar Island. Dr Livingstone and others began their journeys through Africa here.

Day 22 - 25 Zanzibar was for many years the slave capital of Africa until the British abolished slavery in the late 1800’s. It is now a Spice Island and Mecca for people that love white sandy beaches, seafood and crystal clear waters. Many hours can be spent wandering around the narrow winding alleyways of the Old Stone Town. Great reef diving here too!

Day 28 - 31 The warm heart of Africa - Malawi beckons. We'll make our way down the shoreline of Lake Malawi , beach hopping along the way. Malawians are a very proud people and the intricate ebony carvings they produce are of an excellent standard. Don't miss out on the Malawi chairs.
