Day 1: You will be met upon arrival at the Nairobi Airport, and then transferred to Lake Nakuru National Park, which boasts a rich concentration of wildlife as well as a Rhino Sanctuary. This lake and park is famous for it’s flamingos, but there are many other types of birds also living and feeding there. Accommodation will be at Hotel Sundowner tucked away in a quiet corner of Nakuru town. The hotel is simple but clean and has rooms with private bathroom and direct dial telephone. Dinner and overnight will be at the hotel. NOTE: Because this safari departs in the morning a pre-tour night in Nairobi may be required. LD
Day 2: Early morning game drive, followed by breakfast back at the hotel, before departing to Lake Naivasha. An afternoon game drive at the famous Hell’s Gate National Park, with its spectacular gorges and hot springs is one option; a visit to Crescent Island, the only place in Africa where one can wander on foot among plain game, is another possibility. Accommodation and meals will be at a mobile campsite set on the shores of the lake. BLD
Day 3: Early morning game drive followed by breakfast at the camp before departing to Masai Mara Game Reserve. Shortly after leaving, the vast panorama of the Great Rift Valley unfolds below with many splendid stopping places from which to photograph this entrancing spectacle. We cross the valley floor to Narok (Maasai town) in time for lunch, and will arrive at the SLA permanent Campsite by late afternoon. The Safari Line Campsite has modern two person tents complete with bed sheets, blankets and mosquito nets. There are hot and cold showers and flushing toilets. There will be time for a game drive before being served dinner in the small dining hall where cooking is done on traditional wood fires. BLD
Day 4: Today there will be a full day game-drive in the Masai Mara, arguably the world's most famous game reserve due to its wildlife concentration. It forms part of the Great Mara-Serengeti ecosystem and is home to all the big five (Elephant, Buffalo , Lion, Leopard, and Rhino). Over 95 species of mammals and 350 bird species are found in this great reserve. Picnic lunch will be served at the banks of the Masai Mara River where Hippo can be viewed. You may choose to do any of the optional activities available to you. Check with your guide, who will be more than happy to arrange a visit to a Masai Village or a Balloon Safari, which would certainly be spectacular. Return to the campsite in the late afternoon for dinner and an overnight rest. BLD
