Day 1: You will be met at the Nairobi Airport, briefed on your safari, and transferred to the Panafric Hotel, located in a quiet residential suburb. This hotel offers a panoramic view of the Nairobi city centre and is renowned for its traditional hospitality. If your flight arrives in the morning, we can arrange an optional day trip to the Karen Blixen Museum or the Giraffe Center.
Day 2: We leave Nairobi and pass through the Athi Plains, the home of the proud Masai tribe, to Amboseli National Park. The greatest attraction is the vast herds of Elephant within the park and the bull Elephant that have the longest tusks in Kenya. Arrive at the mobile campsite in time for lunch. The evening game drive will allow you to have seen and experienced the wilds of Africa in its natural state. Amboseli National Park is dominated by Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa. BLD
Day 3: Full day spent in this magnificent park with early morning and late evening game drives both for the quality of viewing and for the atmosphere of the wilds of Africa. Mount Kilimanjaro will provide a beautiful backdrop. Meals and overnight will be provided at the camp. BLD
Day 4: After breakfast, we drive back to Nairobi in time for lunch. After lunch we continue through the scenic Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park, which boasts a rich concentration of wildlife and a Rhino Sanctuary. This lake and park is famous for its flamingos, but there are many other types of birds living and feeding there. Accommodation will be at Hotel Sundowner tucked away in a quiet corner of Nakuru town. The hotel is simple but clean and has rooms with private bathroom and direct dial telephone. BLD
Day 05: Depart after breakfast to Masai Mara Game Reserve (travelling off-road is permitted) with an en-route stop at Narok Town for lunch. Arrive at the Masai Mara Game Reserve early afternoon and check in at the modern SLA Campsite, complete with bed sheets, blankets and mosquito nets. Refreshments will be served before departing for the early evening game drive at 1630 hrs. Return to the campsite at 1830 hrs for dinner and a welcome overnight rest. All meals are prepared over a wood fire by an excellent chef. BLD
Day 06: You will have an early morning game drive in the reserve, which is the best time to spot animals while they are still active. An optional early morning balloon ride can be arranged for you – ask your travel agent. Return to the camp for breakfast and spend the morning and afternoon at leisure – an optional visit to a Masai village can be arranged as well. An afternoon game drive and dinner at the camp are on the evening’s agenda. BLD
Day 07: Morning game drive and breakfast before we drive back to Nairobi arriving just before lunch. You will be transferred to the airport or, if time allows, optional excursions, such as the giraffe center or the Karen Blixen Museum , can be done before your transfer to the airport. B
